Back to School, Back on the Podium: LTP’s First 80+ Combined Age Tournament
LTP Pickleball closed out another action-packed tournament weekend August 21–23 with a brand-new format as over 140 players took the courts for our first-ever Back to School 80+ Combined Age Tournament.
The concept was simple: grab a partner and make sure your combined ages totaled at least 80. From there, age took a back seat and competitive pickleball took over.

Back to School 80+ Combined Age Tournament 2026 Gold Medalists
The new format brought together a wide range of players and partner combinations and delivered exactly what we hoped for — competitive matches, a fun tournament atmosphere and plenty of familiar and new faces throughout the weekend.
Tournament Winners
With seven events played over three days, there were plenty of opportunities to make a trip to the podium — and several players managed to do it more than once. Congratulations to Lauren Hopp and Pamela Kelly for making the podium in more than one event in the Back to School tournament!

A Strong Debut for the 80+ Format
As the first tournament of its kind at LTP, the Back to School 80+ Combined Age Tournament brought something new to the calendar and proved that a small change in format can create an entirely different tournament experience.
Whether you left with gold, silver or bronze, picked up a memorable win, or simply enjoyed three days of competitive pickleball, we’re glad you were part of the first LTP 80+ Combined Age Tournament. We continue to create new unique opportunities for our members to play!
